About Lakes Area Shooting Sports

Lakes Area Shooting Sports, formerly known as the Lakeshore Conservation Club, has been a part of the Brainerd Lakes community since the early 1950s. As a nonprofit organization, we’re dedicated to promoting the safe, knowledgeable, and responsible use of firearms and natural resources.

Our member-supported facility offers rifle and pistol ranges, along with trap, skeet, and 5-stand — all maintained for year-round use by shooters of all experience levels. From recreational shooting and league nights to educational clinics and family-friendly events, we provide opportunities for everyone to get involved.

We’re also proud to support the next generation of shooters by partnering with the Brainerd, Pillager, and Central Lakes College trap teams. These partnerships allow youth athletes to train and compete in a safe, structured environment — continuing our mission of education, safety, and community involvement.

Facilities & Access

Shotgun Sports (Summer Hours - Memorial Day to Labor Day):

We offer shotgun sports including Singles Trap, Doubles Trap, Handicapped Trap, Skeet, and 5-Stand. These fields are open to members and to the public during posted range hours. Shells for purchase, hearing protection, pouches, and eye protection are available.

Trap & 5-Stand:
Saturdays & Sundays: 11 AM – 5 PM
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays: 12 PM – 7 PM

Skeet:
Sundays: 11 AM – 5 PM
Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 12 PM – 7 PM

Monthly Trap Shoots Are Scheduled — Join our email list for updates

Rifle & Handgun Ranges (Members Only):

Open Year-Round: 9 AM – Sunset (except during skeet hours)

Lakes Area Shooting Sports provides covered 25, 50, and 100-yard Rifle Target Ranges, and a separate covered 25-yard range for Handguns.

HOLD HARMLESS Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk Agreement

Dated: November 2013

This Hold Harmless, Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk Agreement is entered into the above date by and between Lakeshore Conservation Club, dba Lakes Area Shooting Sports, a Minnesota Non-Profit Corporation, hereinafter “club” and ____________________ hereinafter “promisor.”

Promisor for himself/herself and his/her guests desire to use the premises of club in Cass County, Minnesota, and shall hold harmless, indemnify and release club from all claims arising from and relating to promisor’s use of club’s premises.

Promisor’s use of club’s premises are strictly at promisor’s own risk and club shall all have no liability to promisor or promisor guests for any action or non-action of club except clearly intentional acts of club itself.

Promisor shall indemnify and hold harmless and indemnify club from all claims, actions, demands and judgments, including all costs and attorney’s fees incurred in defending against the same related to promisor or promisor’s guests use of club’s premises in Cass County, Minnesota.

Promisor agrees to use due and reasonable care in the use of club’s premises and promisor shall be responsible for assuring that promisor’s guest do the same.

This agreement shall encompass all of promisor’s and promisor’s guest activities upon club’s premises.
